8 Days Rongai route climbing Kilimanjaro through a remote and quite route from the north side of the mountain. The rongai route retains a sense of unspoiled nature with great choice for climbers to experience piece and quit trail due to low number of trekkers.

Rongai route offers a smooth climbing which gives a climber a great chance of acclimatization and enhance the successful rate to reach the Uhuru peak.



Day 1: Airport then transfer to Hotel Arusha or Moshi
Meet and transfer from the airport to the hotel in Arusha or Moshi for relaxation and final preparation for the next day climbing activity. Our Mountain guide will meet you and provide the briefing and the requirements include gears and equipment’s checkup for success climbing experience.

Day 2: Rongai Gate (1950m) – Simba Camp (2635m)
After morning breakfast collect picnic and transfer to Rongai entry gate. Upon arrive finalize the registration and the arrangements of the luggage’s. The trail leads through rainforest before approaching the heather vegetation were nest the Simba Camp for dinner and overnight. Hiking time: 4-5 hours.

Day 3: Simba Camp (2635m) – Kikelewa Camp (3675m)
Morning after breakfast begin the trk to reach the Second Cave. The route takes you through varieties of vegetation zones such as heather zone and the gret view of Kibo and Mawenzi before reaching Kikelewa Camp for dinner and overnight. Hiking time: 3-4 hours.

Day 4: Kikelewa Camp – Third Cave
A day dedicated for acclimatization to enhance your chance to overcome the effect of altitude sickness and increase the success rate to reach the summit. This you will have the time to relax and explore the surrounding before departing to Third cave after lunch for dinner and overnight. Late afternoon begin the trekking to reach the Third cave taking almost 3 to 4 hiking hours.

Day 5: Kikelewa Camp (3675m) – Mawenzi Tarn Hut (4300m)
Morning breakfast to the camp then depart to reach the Mawenzi Tarn Hut. The trail offers a steep climb with a fantastic views of the surrounding before approaching the Camp for dinner and overnight. Hiking time: 4 to 5 hours.

Day 6: Mawenzi Tarn (4300m) – Kibo Hut (4714m)
Early morning after breakfast depart to reach Kibo hut which is the meeting point with other climbers using the Marangu route. After reaching the Kibo hut take enough relaxation and final preparation for the last challenge of conquering the Uhuru peak which the journey begin at midnight. Hiking time: 6 to 8 hours.

Day 7: Kibo Huts (4714m) – Gilman’s Point(5670m) – Uhuru Peak (5895m) – Horombo Hut (3721m)
At midnight begin the final trekking to reach Uhuru peak passing through the Gilmans point and finaly approach the Uhuru peak around 6am. Enjoy amazing view from the peak covered by glacier. Then descend down to Kibo hut for breakfast and short relaxation before proceeding down to Horombo hut for dinner and overnight. Hiking: 5 to 7 hours then 3 to 4 hours descent.

Day 8: Horombo Huts – Marangu Gate – Arusha / Moshi
After morning breakfast make the final descent to Marangu gate taking 5 to 7 hours to reach to exit gate. Upon arrival meet and transfer to the hotel for relaxation, day room or overnight stay. Then followed by late night flight or overnight stay for the following day transfer to airport for flight.
