Full Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival to the Airport and transfer to hotel
Arrival to the airport, Kilimanjaro or Arusha then picked up by our drive guide then transfer the hotel for the preparation and accommodation.Our mountain guide will provide briefing and checkup of the equipment’s.
Day 2
Transfer to Lemosho Gate (2150m) – Big Tree Camp(2650m)
Early morning transfer to Marangu gate for registration and final arrangements ready to begin the climbing safari.After registration begin walking through the rain forest vegetation to reach the Mandara hut for dinner and overnight.
Hike time: 3.5 hours, Distance: About 4 km, Habitat: Montane forest.
Day 3
Big Tree Camp (2650m) – Shira 1 Camp (3610m)
Morning breakfast then begin walking to reach Horombo hut for dinner and overnight.
Hike time: 4 hours, Distance: 7 km, Habitat: Montane Forest / Moorland.
Day 4
Shira 1 Camp (3610m) – Shira 2 Camp (3850m)
Morning breakfast then begin walking to reach Horombo hut for dinner and overnight.
Hike time: 8.5 hours, Distance: 10 km, Habitat: Montane Forest, Moorland..
Day 5
Shira 2 Camp (3850m) – Lava Tower (4600m) – Barranco Camp (3900m)
After morning breakfast begin hiking a hike to reach Kibo for dinner and rest for the midnight summit to Uhuru Peak.
Hiking time: 6 hours, Distance: About 10km, Habitat: Moorland, Alpine desert..
Day 6
Shira Camp(3670m) – Lava Tower (4600m) – Barranco Camp (3900m)
After morning breakfast begin a hike to reach Barranco Camp for dinner and overnight. The trail pass through Lava Tower for acclimatization.
Hiking time: 7 hours, Distance: About 11 km, Habitat: Heath / Moorland, Alpine desert.
Day 7
Barranco Camp (3900m) – Karanga Camp (3995m) – Barafu Camp (4667m)
After morning breakfast ascent the barranco wall to reach Karanga camp for lunch then proceed to Barafu camp for dinner and rest before midnight summit.
Hiking time: About 7 hours, Distance: About 9 km, Habitat: Alpine desert, Arctic, Heath / Moorland and Rain forest.
Day 8
Barafu Camp (4667m) – Uhuru Peak (5895m) – Mweka Camp (3100m)
Midnight wakeup ready to ascent the Uhuru peak. Reach the uhuru peak early in the morning. After reaching the Uhuru peak begin to descend to Barafu camp.Upon arrival to the camp enjoy late breakfast before descend to Mweka Camp for dinner and overnight.
Hiking time: 7 hours to reach Uhuru Peak and the 7 hours to descend to Mweka camp, Distance: About 14 km, Habitat: Alpine desert, Mountain forest..
Day 9
Mweka Camp (3100m) – Mweka Gate (1980m)
After morning breakfast descend to Mweka gate to finalize. From Mweka gate transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight or late transfer to airport for flight.
Hiking time: 3 hours, Distance: About 2 km, Habitat: Forest.
